THERE will be silverware in the Beacon Park trophy cabinet this year as Helston seconds secured the division five title on Saturday.
They thumped St Ives seconds by nine wickets to remain nine points ahead of Gerrans, who have completed their programme. Gulval seconds are 21 points behind in third with just one game to play.
They can be promoted but will need to beat Helston at Four Moors on Saturday to do so.
St Ives were bowled out for 132 with Lewis Jeffery taking four for 20 and Spider Kelly two for 30.
Helston made light work of their task with Justin Matthews making 76 not out and Steve Bury 43 not out in an unbroken second wicket stand as they cruised to 136 for one.
The division five county final, a week on Saturday, is at the picturesque and historical Boconnoc Estate ground near Lostwithiel.
The opponents with be either Launceston seconds or Calstock.
Launceston go into the final round of games with an eight point advantage.
