A FINAL day Division Three promotion shoot out will take place at Praze on Saturday with Botallack & St Levan the visitors.

Troon seconds need four points to make sure of the title, but second spot is up for grabs.

Botallack’s lead is only five points and that can be overturned if Praze are successful.

On Saturday, they beat relegated Beacon by 98 runs. Tom James, 70, and Grant Rowe, 75, set up the victory with a 90 run second wicket stand.

Nick Allen chipped in with 27 in the 239-9. Beacon made 132 in reply with Daniel Eathorne top scoring with 32.

Ben James took three for 35 and there were two each for Damian Lynes and Tom James.

Mullion’s hopes of finishing in fourth suffered a setback with a seven wicket defeat at champions elect Troon. Mullion made a respectable 220-7 with Trevor Lee making 73, Stephen Green 59 and Michael Cockings 31.

The home side swept to victory however only losing three wickets. Angus McKinnon made 75, Shane Richards 49 and Sam Eva 50 not out.

With only one team due to be relegated, due to the vacancy in Division Two, Leedstown are safe despite a 17 run defeat at neighbours Hayle.

Jamie Harvey made 53 in the home side’s 191 all out. Alastair Cooper, Kevin Knowles and Scott Abraham took three wickets each.

Nick Verran made 67 in the Leedstown reply of 174-7. Knowles was 32 not out.

Wendron scored a spectacular 145 run win over Perranarworthal at Tredrea.

Sam Care made 82 and Ryan Mitchell 38 to get the visitors to 185-8. Lee Coston took five for 41. It proved to be more than enough however as Perran crashed from 16 without loss to 40 all out.

After Jim Spiers departed for 15 it all went wrong with Tony Harris returning remarkable figures of 8-4-8-7. Tim Kitchen took one for four with seven of his nine overs maidens.

The Division Four leaders Goldsithney racked up the big total of 294 all out at Porthleven.

Having got rid of the prolific Giles Lawrence for 21 and Treve Kitchen for 28, any hopes of being set a manageable target were scuppered with Francis Pellow making 91.

Bradley Bury took four for 36 and Chris Higgs three for 76. Porthleven were all out for 121 with Paul Combellack top scoring with 30.

Mullion seconds had a 90 run home defeat to St Day at Garro Lane. The visiting openers caused the problems with Kevin Jones making 88 and Gareth Jones 79 not out.

Gary Tremayne took two for 29 in the eight man Mullion attack as St Day got to 211-3. Philip Burslem made 34 in their 121-9.
