GOLF: Giddings Cup battle won by Leah
ED Leah won a closely thought contest at Praa Sands Golf and Country Club to win the Men's Giddings Cup.
The golfer carded 57, the same score as David Prowse and Brian Gent, but was given the title on countback in the competition sponsored by William Giddings.
Matt Lawrence won the August Bank Holiday Stableford match scoring 39 points, putting him three ahead of runner-up Ryan Semmens.
Finishing third was Spencer Hillyar on 35 while Giles Lawrence came fourth with 32.
In the month Senior's Medal, Matt Tregenza took home the top prize after scoring 65, one better than Fred Hayne, John Clapson and Rodger Pearce.
