PORTHLEVEN manager Dennis Annear said he is not looking out for new players despite having to go into recent games with just 12 men.

Injuries, suspensions and work commitments have forced the Fishermen to have just one substitute available to them in their games so far this season.

This included Saturday's 8-1 thrashing against St Austell in the FA Vase.

But despite their low matchday squad numbers, Annear said he was not too worried about the situation.

Annear said: "We have got 19 signed onto us, but of that lot there are two currently out with the navy at Culdrose on a ship.

"Then unfortunately we have guys with injuries and suspensions and when you lose regulars at our level it is difficult for any team, even a side like St Austell who are in a league above us.

"I won't stop looking for players, but if you bring a couple in then the others come back then you have the headache of having seven on the bench.

"I am delighted we have the reserves side in the Combo League to call if we ever need them, but is it a club after all and we can't leave too short either."

Port returned to South West Peninsula League West action tonight as they host Illogan RBL at Gala Parc. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
