Falmouth 3
Stoke Gabriel 2
Falmouth pulled off a stunning come-from-behind victory to record their first win of the season against Stoke Gabriel at Bickland Park
on Saturday.
Despite an even first half, with neither side taking control of the game, Stoke Gabriel scored two quick goals just before half time to stun Falmouth.
First, Ollie Critchlow had a shot that was deflected in, before Sam Dicken finished well, with his shot going in off the inside of the post.
The half time team talk must have worked wonders, as Falmouth came out after the break full of intent.
It took them until the hour mark to get back in the game, after the referee awarded a penalty, which was slotted home by Harry Evans.
The visitors were unlucky to see their keeper go off injured soon after, but Falmouth were ruthless in taking advantage.
Rob Wearne levelled equalised with a header with just ten minutes to go, and all the momentum was with Falmouth as they looked for a winner.
They were rewarded just two minutes later for their pressure as a foul in the area saw the referee point to the spot for the second time. Harry Evans duly stepped up and showed his nerve to put it in the back of the net.
The result leaves Falmouth in 16th place in the table, one place behind their visitors.
