LATE drama ensued at Gala Parc as Porthleven were forced to go through a penalty shoot-out to reach the next round of the Walter C Parson Cup.
Their first round tie at home to Penzance ended 1-1 after Paul Cox equalised with nine minutes remaining of normal time after a freak goal from Jed McCardie had given Port a first half lead.
From about 35 yards out and on the right wing, McCardie tried sending the ball into the box, only to see it go past the reach of a stretching Richard Kellow in goal and into the net.
Most of the game had drifted people watching by as a spectacle before the penalties came along and it was a save by Ben Bryant from Scott Kellow's spot kick, the first of the shoot-out, which proved crucial.
The next eight were thumped home before Jamie a Greet stepped up and finished the match off with the Fishermen winning 5-4 on penalties.
Their reward is a trip to Godolphin Atlantic in the second round next month.
