A GIRLS football team showed off their skills for the first time as they visited Perranporth beach for a tournament.
The Culdrose Seahawks Girls Under 12 played in the annual Beach Soccer Cup with all the squad, except for one player, making their debut in the sport.
They built up confidence during the day, losing their first group stage game 2-0 before drawing 2-2 in the second match.
Knowing a win in the final match would give them a chance of making the semi finals, the Seahawks pulled off a wonderful display to claim a 6-1 victory.
It was enough to give them a semi final spot, but they were undone by a talented Truro side who beat them 2-1 after scoring a last minute goal.
Manager Jake Lane said he was pleased with the team’s overall performance.
Lane said: “All of the girls did themselves, their parents and the club proud with both on the field and with the level of sporting behaviour shown.”
