SID Taylor said he thought his Helston Athletic side had started believing some of the hype about them after their excellent start to the season.

The Blues' manager said getting back to winning ways was great to see and hopes his side can learn from the last few games.

Taylor said: “I think after the first seven or eight games we played, we probably started believing in the hype being put around us.

“It was as if us winning the league was a foregone conclusion, but no-one ever wins the league in September or October.

“That is something we’ve been shown lately, so know we have got to get back down to it.

“I asked for a quick reaction from the lads and that is what I got and winning again is fantastic.”

He went onto say the performance by his team on Saturday as they defeated Perranporth 6-1 left him delighted.

“We blew Perranporth away with our football in the first half,” Taylor said.

“I thought we moved the ball around really well and we were quick.

“The boys worked really hard for the result and they can be very pleased with themselves.”
