BIKER Forest Dunn got the chance to ride on the hallowed tarmac of Brands Hatch on Sunday as he entered the National Superstock 1000 Series race.

The 26-year-old from Falmouth took on stars from across the globe at the 2.3 mile long circuit in Kent at the event which was the last to be held in the 2014 season.

It was the third round of the series Dunn had entered this year and he went in determined to finish on a high in front of crowds reaching 30,000.

After whizzing around famous sections of the damp track like Hawthorns, Surtees, Cooper Straight and Sheene Curve, Dunn qualified in 37th place on his Kawasaki ZX-10R bike.

Race day say light rain falling on the circuit, making conditions tricky for competitors as it was still too dry to use wet tyres, but not quite damp enough for wets, leaving many pondering what to do.

Dunn went down the middle and selected a wet tyre on the front and dry on the back and he started the race well, avoiding getting involved in a crash catching three other riders out.

Over the remaining 14 laps, Dunn battled hard to work his way up to 28th position, a finish he was pleased with.

Dunn said: "I am very happy to finish in the top 30 of the National Superstock Championship and to qualify at each of the three rounds of the series that I entered this year is above my expectations in my first season.”
