FALMOUTH Docks D got their season off to a good start in the West Cornwall Table Tennis League.

With two wins in their opening games, the team sit at the top of the Premier League conceding just one point out of a possible 20.

They recorded a 9-1 success against their clubmates in Docks F before moving onto a 10-0 win over a weakened Mounts Bay side.

Malcolm Peters won all six of his matches in the two games while his sons Chris and Nick won three and two of their ties respectively.

Dominique Williams and Charlie Scorse both grabbed three wins each too to ensure an impressive start.

Elsewhere in the Docks, their B team sit in second place courtesy of a 9-1 win over Bridge B before beating their own club’s A team 7-3.

Martin Rule was the star player over the two games as he won all six of his matches while there were three victories each for Locryn Vandervelde, Steve Lobb and Jamie Bassett.

Before their defeat at the hands of the D side, last year’s champions Docks A scrapped through to a narrow 6-4 victory away at St Ives A.

Dave Waddington had an unbeaten start to the season with three wins while Chris Peters and Paul Jenkin had two victories each.

Another impressive start was made by Docks E as they stuffed Mounts Bay 9-1.

In Division One, the early pace has been set by People’s Palace B thanks to an 8-2 win over Docks K and a 9-1 victory against Docks J.
