A CLASH between two unbeaten teams at the top of the West Cornwall Pool League Division One saw Helston FC A come out on top.
It was a close run thing in the battle between them and Godolphin Club F with the footballers finding themselves 4-2 down after the singles.
However, they dug deep in the doubles winning all three of the ties to secure a 5-4 victory.
Despite the loss, Godolphin at the top of the league having played another game last week, beating Rodney Inn A 7-2.
This was the same winning score recorded by Wendron CC who won against Atlantic Inn A and Lizard FC A over Rodney Inn B.
In the other Division One match, White Hart B beat the Boathouse 6-3.
Just like their colleagues, Godolphin Club B also lost their unbeaten record in Division Two.
Against Paris A, the club had been leading 4-3 but ended up losing the final doubles matches, making the score 5-4.
The Five Pilchards still lead Division Three after a 6-3 win against Mounts Bay while the Three Tuns continue to head Division Four following their 6-3 victory over the Red Lion A.
