DIVISION set-ups for the 2015 season have been confirmed for the Cornwall Cricket League.

The Cornwall Cricket Board unveiled the final draft of the leagues which will contest the prizes next year.

In the Western side of the competition, promotions have been awarded to Stithians’ second team and third XI of St Gluvias.

Stithians move into Division Four West while the Saints will participate a league higher than the 2014 season as both are filling vacancies which have opened up since the final game.

In another change, the board made the decision to combine the Division Six and Sevens from the west and east.

The 36 teams, including sides from Mawnan, Wendron, Porthleven, Helston and Falmouth, have been split into geographical leagues with a new Central division created alongside the east and west.

Media officer Michael Weeks said: “The league are most grateful to Stithians seconds, St Gluvias thirds and Wadebridge thirds for all agreeing to unexpected promotions.

“As intimated at the tier meetings, Division Six and Seven have been amalgamated and regionalised.

“The 36 teams have been divided geographically into three 12 team divisions, giving the rare outcome of a full set of games for every team in the league.

“There is a caveat however in that the League Management Committee reserves the right to still possible have to move Division Six border teams from one section to another.”

Teams who earned promotions up the league included St Gluvias, Praze and Helston seconds.
