A COUPLE of 10-0 thrashings have helped Falmouth Docks A close Bridge A’s lead at the top of the West Cornwall Table Tennis League to ten points.
Their emphatic wins came against Bridge B and St Ives A with Mark Meijvis and Paul Jenkin not dropping a single game in the six both played, while Adrian Noott and Chris Peters won three times each.
Points were dropped by Bridge A who recorded a 9-1 victory over Mounts Bay A and a 7-3 score against Peoples Palace A, which helped Docks A close down the gap.
Docks D also had a good week with a comfortable 7-3 win against Docks B before going on to hammer Docks F 10-0.
The first victory also saw Martin Rule lose his 100 per cent success rate for the season.
Another whitewash was recorded by Docks C who faced Palace A.
In Division One, Mylor A remain top but the difference between them and Palace B is just two points.
The leaders had a convincing 9-1 win at home to Docks J and a 7-3 victory against Marazion, who scored all their points through Harry Stanbury.
Palace B made sure they stay close behind Mylor as they defeated Docks H 9-1 and Docks K 8-2.
Elsewhere in the division, an inter-club clash between Docks L and Docks K ended in a 5-5 draw.
Penryn-based Saracens A have a comfortable 16 point cushion at the top of Division Two following a 10-0 win over Docks P and a 7-3 victory against Docks N.
Joe Tuffrey and Morgan Cardell finished both games unbeaten while Aiden Rollason picked up four wins from six.
Sitting in second place are Mylor C who recorded a 10-0 result against Palace C in their only fixture of the week.
