GOALS from Rachel Medd and Amy Tatlow helped secure a point for Falmouth as they travelled up to Bristol on Saturday.

Their clash with a strong Westberries side featured plenty of good defensive work from both teams along with attackers testing out their opponents.

Tatlow went close for Falmouth early on, but had her shot smothered by the home goalkeeper, while the back line trio of Megan Cookson, Viv Cobner and Kat Barbery looked solid as they snuffed out shots to make Hannah Bowman's life easy between the posts.

However, Westberries did take the lead when from a penalty corner, which came from a decision the visiting team felt should have gone their way.

The hosts went in at half time 1-0 up and after the break forced Bowman to pull off two fantastic saves as pressure was piled on.

This storm was weathered by Falmouth, who then turned the tables on the Berries and take a hold of the game.

Barbery-Redd brought the ball out of defence and slipped to Hanna Royle, who in turn passed it to Rachael Tatlow.

She made a dart towards goal before teeing up Medd to bang the ball home and equalise.

Confidence was brimming with the visitors and five minutes later they went ahead through Tatlow in another well worked team goal.

Medd went close with another shot just going over before from a penalty corner, the home side levelled proceedings.

Westberries had the chance to bag a win in the final couple of minutes, only to send a penalty corner effort well wide.

FALMOUTH'S second team secured a 3-1 win at home to Caradon seconds in blustery conditions.

The visitors took a surprise lead after the hosts had started on top, but a great run by player-of-the-match Molly Phillips levelled things up with a reverse shot.

Before half time Falmouth went 2-1 up when Caradon's goalkeeper made a save from a penalty corner, only for the ball to fall in front of Sam Dunstan, who promptly smashed it home.

Iona Middleton finished the scoring off in the second half with a beautifully hit straight shot from a penalty corner.
