A LARGE 12 point gap has been opened up by STR Clinton over Godolphin Club in the Mining League Snooker Division One table.
With four games to go, the defending champions who have gone unbeaten this season have the advantage which now means it will be very hard to overtake them.
It was secured after 3-2 victory against Penponds while Godolphin secured a 4-1 result over Redruth British Rail B.
At the other end of the league table, Breage look all but certain of surviving the drop to Division Two despite losing 3-2 at home to St Day.
Their chances of safety were increased though by Lanner and Playing Place B both losing by the same score.
