THE FIRST 18 holes of the prestigious Falmouth Hotel Bowl took place at Falmouth Golf Course on Saturday, writes Keith Rashleigh.

Roger Weeks leads the way by two points following a round which totalled 42 stableford points, with his only disappointment being a double bogey at the seventh hole which he three putted but other than that his round was very solid.

Afterwards, a modest Weeks said: "I had my bit of luck on the day."

Simon Hirst finished two points behind, despite a blob at the second and no doubt, along with many others, will be putting in a big effort over the second round this Saturday as will Ken Arch and Raymond "A" Clark, who both carded 39.

Ross Taylor, Clive Ahrens, Michael Clark and Matt Morrison all returned solid scores of 38 apiece and will also fancy their chances of lifting the famous trophy.
