PROCEEDINGS have begun in the 2015 West Cornwall Summer Pool League season with last year's top two clubs clashing.
Defending champions Lizard FC came out on top in the Division One match, beating Helston FC A 6-3 with singles victories for Kevin Bosustow, Steve Williams, Paul Williams, Ben Evans and Darren Hill.
A bright side of the defeat for Helston was an eight ball clearance from Dave Fox.
After having a year off in 2014, Helston RBL A are back in the competition and started with a 5-4 win over Rodney Inn.
Godolphin Club B recorded the same score against Bell Inn, as did Constantine SC over Lion & Lamb.
In Division Two, wins from Martyn Jeffery, Wayne Rogers, Geoff Pine and Stu Thomas saw Godolphin Club A beat Helston RBL D while the Boathouse defeated Helston FC E 6-3.
The Seven Stars recovered from a 4-2 deficit to topple Helston FC C 5-4 and Godolphin Club E came back from 2-0 down to beat Potters Bar 6-3.
