A DRAMATIC conclusion gripped the Falmouth Hotel Bowl on Saturday as Dan Briers took the title, writes Keith Rashleigh.

The players started the day in 15th position at Falmouth Golf Club, but an inspired round of two over par gross including a birdie at the 13th hole brought him a round of 44 Stableford points, making his aggregate score 80.

Coming second in the competition which is played over 36 holes was Ross Taylor with a total of 78, with third place falling to Roger Weeks who had led the field after the first round.

Raymond “A” Clark maintained his fourth position with a second round score of 36 for an aggregate of 76.

Wednesday saw the Peacock Cup Monthly Medal, sponsored by Kelsall Steele Investment Services, where Geoff Lloyd won with a fine net 68 including birdies at the second and 12th holes.

Runner-up was Ben Browning with a net 69 with birdies at the 12th and 18th holes.

Third was Steve Draycott also with a 69 and a birdie at the sixth while Brian Craig took fourth spot with 71.
