OFFICIALS at Redruth have said an announcement on any new additions to their squad will be made "soon" - with a date next week possible.

Much speculation has surrounded The Rec recently as preparations for the 2015/16 season begin to take shape across the rugby community in Cornwall with rumours circling about who will be representing the National League Two South club.

Players who have been strongly linked to the Reds include a trio from near rivals Camborne in the form of David Mankee, Alex Ducker and Kieran Westlake along with St Austell's Ashley Lawton.

However, when approached by Packet Sport, the club declined to confirm whether any of these players had been recruited.

A spokesperson said: "There are no announcements to make at the moment, although that could change next week.

"Until they have definitely signed and registered as a Redruth player, the club will not confirm the arrival of any player."

Last season, Redruth finished ninth in the league, level on points but a place above fellow Duchy side the Cornish All Blacks.

Earlier this week, it was revealed scrum-half Greg Goodfellow would be leaving The Rec as he returns to his native Scotland.
