ROSS Taylor deservedly won the Churchill Medal at sunny Falmouth Golf Club, writes Keith Rashleigh.

He hit a solid net 64, including a birdie at the sixth and double bogeys at the 15th and 17th to claim the title.

Runner-up was Matt Higham with a steady net 65 on countback from Andy Morris, who carded birdies at the third and fourth holes.

Paul Kneebone finished fourth with another tidy round of net 66 including birdies at the 6th and 15th holes, while Nick Chinn recorded the best gross score with a one over par gross 73, hitting birdies at the seventh, 11th, 13th and 17th holes.

However, the highlight of the day was Robert Edwards hole-in-one at the par three second.

On Wednesday, Rik Shaw won the Monthly Stableford, sponsored by Kelsall Steele Investment Services, with a good haul of 39 points.

Chris Dowling finished second with 37 on countback from Pete Lewis, with fourth going to Brian Craig with 36.
