CREWS took to the waters at Mylor Yacht Club for the final Falmouth Boat Construction Series race of the season on Friday, writes Stephen Nicholls.

There was a south-westerly ten-knot wind blowing at the start which decreased during the race and in Q Class, Rococo, captained by Clive Hoyle, made the most of the conditions to sail into the sunset and onto victory.

Tony O'Hanlon onboard Topsy came second in the last leg and with this claimed the overall series title away from Rococo.

In U Class, a tussle between Nirvana and Mary Boon in the early stages ignited the racing before the latter pushed ahead, eventually taking the win on handicap.

Lez Beez Neez finished second in the last race and this was enough to pick up first in the series ahead of Mary Boon and Wizard of Clee.

H Class saw eight Shrimpers start in what was a shortened race as the light faded with Sophie, manned by Chris Fuller, winning and the series title going to Michael Wilson's Henrietta.

As for E Class, John Kulpa skippered 4Play to victory in the race and also topped the leaderboard overall with Mylor Sailability's Joker coming second and Nightowler, captained by Mike Lithgow, third.
