HAVING secured their status in County Divison One St Gluvias had an ordinary weekend, albeit with weakened teams.

Praze will probably finish in fourth spot in Division Two and reflect on ‘what might have been’ after falling away towards the end of the year.

Their home game with St Just last Saturday was the only game in the Cornwall League cancelled due to a wet ground, but they did see action on Monday however, winning at St Ives by 61 runs.

Ben James made 86 in the total of 191-4 and St Ives were all out for 130.

Falmouth seconds had a mixed weekend.

Webber took three for 42. Nathan Strick made 39 in the reply of 127.

Constantine have blown their chances of promotion with two weekend defeats.

On Monday, at Garro Lane, Mullion got 220-7 with three wickets apiece for Graham Griffiths and Charlie Campbell before the visitors were bowled out for 203, with Vanstone making 70.

It is a long shot but Perranarworthal could take the third promotion spot, with victory at Mt Ambrose.

They would also need for Redruth to lose at Hayle and Botallack & St Levan to drop points in beating Mt Hawke.

It is not such good news for Leedstown however as they face the drop.

The trip to champions elect Goldsithney was never going to be an easy task and so it proved.
