RELATIVES of Sharon Wood joined officials from Wendron United to hand over a cheque worth £2,300 to Cancer Research UK.
The funds were raised during the annual memorial mini-soccer tournament held to remember the life of Wood, a founding member of the team's youth section.
She died from the disease in 1999.
Since then, the competition has been held for young footballers with hundreds of teams and players taking part every year.
During the presentation, members of the charity thanked the club with Margaret Eva, community fundraiser for the charity, saying: "Without support like this from this fantastic mini-soccer tournament, Cancer Research UK’s work would not be possible as we rely overwhelmingly on donations from the public."
The club thanked sponsors Scorse Foods of Helston for their support and everyone who helped at the tournament
