Bude 71 – Falmouth Eagles 0

Yes this is not a misprint - I wish it were. The Eagles were shot down by a 12 Bore and certainly had their feathers ruffled, writes Arthur Williams.

Unbeaten on their arrival at Bude, the visitors had no idea what was in store, but looking positively this circus of horrors could be a blessing in disguise, as every member of the squad will now be directing their energy towards improving productivity and fitness.

There were no excuses as the home outfit were the far better team, being sharper and quicker behind the scrum and were sitting on a 29 point lead at half time. The visitors’ cause was not helped when they lost number 8 Simon Bailey after 20 minutes.

Bude’s man of the match, fly-half Kyle Speare, seemed to dance his way through the Eagles’ weak defence scoring four tries in the match.

While Falmouth made chances it seemed that the bounce of the ball just never favoured them and will be hoping this result is a one off.
