Falmouth sailor finishes seventh in epic 18-day race from France to Brazil
FALMOUTH sailor Sam Goodchild and his co-skipper, Frenchman Eric Bellion, crossed the line in Brazil in a fantastic seventh place just before 3pm today, completing this year's gruelling Transat Jacques Vabre race.
At 25, Sam is the youngest IMOCA sailor in this year's competition, which left Le Havre in France 18 days ago. Sailing onboard Stand As One, this is the first time that both Goodchild and Bellion have competed in the IMOCA Class.
