PENRYN Rugby Club has been boosted by the return to action of Cornwall flanker George Jones.

The 27 year-old last played for the county back in May before undergoing knee surgery which has kept him out for the first five months of the season.

Jones played a full match for the Saracens at home to Wadebridge on Saturday but first team coach Paul Trevaskis is cautious about rushing back into Western Counties action.

"It's great that he played a 80 minutes in the mud but it maybe a bit early to have him back with us. He's been out for a long time and we don't want to push it."

Borough produced a gutsy display at league leaders Exeter University, picking up a bonus point despite losing 24-17.

This Saturday they entertain Tiverton and will be desperate to avenge a 31-0 defeat that they suffered in Devon at the end of October.

"We took a bit of a thumping up there but we're at home now and the boys can take a lot of confidence from Saturday's performance. It's always easier being the underdog and it bodes well for the coming weeks, but we need to get some wins."

Falmouth's fading Cornwall/Devon League title hopes suffered another setback when they lost 17-3 at St Ives on Saturday. They will hope to return to winning ways when they host Bodmin this weekend.
