SWPL secretary Phil Hiscox has issued a statement giving permission for clubs to call off tomorrow's matches from now onwards.

Although the weather is better than last weekend, the news today that both Torquay United and Truro City have been called off more than 24 hours before kick off, and the forecasts confirming some more rain for us all overnight, have left Mr Hiscox with no choice.

Host clubs who are certain that no play is possible are urged to call him, the opponents and the match officials first, before anyone else is notified.

Clubs in Cornwall Senior Cup ties tomorrow should be aware that if off, they will try again this week - so Penryn's match at St Austell will take place on Tuesday if tomorrow's game is postponed.

Where lights are not available, such as the tie between Bude and Helston, they will play next Saturday.

Mr Hiscox added that the chances of an extension to the season from the FA are minimal.

He said: "Clubs need to be aware that almost any game lost to the weather now is likely to be midweek, bank holiday or Sunday without any consideration to the distance involved.

"It's not that anybody wants to do it, its just that being 140 games behind schedule and with just 12 more Saturdays left, there is nothing else I or anybody can do but re-arrange them for any available date."
