FOR the first time in a decade the main sponsorship of the South West Peninsula League is available to new sponsors.

The board of the league was saddened to hear that long time sponsors Carlsberg will not be renewing next season, after the brewers altered their marketing requirements for such sponsorships. Carlsberg have sponsored the league since its inception in 2007 and before that the old South Western League.

This however provides an opportunity for the high profile league which they have opened up to interested companies in particular the board is seeking a regional or national company who will benefit from the publicity that the league generates throughout the South West area.

The league runs 3 divisions with 56 clubs in membership which are spread throughout Devon & Cornwall from Mousehole in the West to Axminster in the East.

The sponsor will gain from advertising at both league and club level on every match day as well as the significant press coverage the league attracts on Radio, Social Media and newspapers throughout the area.

Sponsors also have unique opportunities from Trophy presentations to Champions, free admission passes to the games, complimentary annual presentation night tickets and targeted promotional messages to Supporters of all the clubs, players, referees etc.

A working party of league officials has been set up with a view to securing a new title sponsor and also possibly smaller partners for the leagues other awards such as Fair Play, Best programme and Best Ground awards.

Any companies who may be interested in discussing opportunities are asked to contact Secretary Phil Hiscox (phil@swpleague..co.uk) or 01392 493995 in the first instance.
