West Cornwall Golf Club was once again the venue for Nalders solicitors' recent seventh annual golf day.

A total of 76 professional people took part in 19 teams.

Robert Owen Communities (ROC) was the beneficiary charity – ROC supports local people with learning disabilities.

The teams to come out on top in a wind affected day were Datson Consulting, ITEC and Miller Commercial. Nalders' golf day has raised many thousands of pounds for charity over the years.

Phil Weaver, partner at the firm’s Camborne office said: "I am delighted we have been able to raise £450 for ROC through this year’s golf day.

"ROC is Nalders' charity partner – an outstanding charity which support some 200 local people with learning disabilities. I’m really looking forward to visiting their local services to discover how they’re making possible the kind of life opportunities which most of us take for granted. In these days of austerity, Nalders' contribution will really make a difference."

Nick Datson of the winning team from Datson Consulting said: "This is the first year we have taken part in Nalders' golf day and, in a close competition, we were thrilled to come out on top. We had such a great day - the hospitality was superb - and we fully intend to come back next year to defend our title. It’s lovely to think that through this process of playing golf, we can put back into the community in which we live and work.’

ROC’s Calvin Lovelock said: "Phil and his colleagues are to be congratulated on staging such an impressive corporate event. Even after 7 years of golf days, the smooth running of an event like this is dependent on excellent relationships and attention to detail, and clearly Nalders have these qualities in abundance.

"This donation will fund a wonderful, community based, confidence building activity for the people we support which would not otherwise have been possible. I’m delighted.’

As well as making ROC its charity partner, Nalders was a major sponsor of the recent ROC 5K annual fun run which attracted more than 500 runners, 20 of whom were from Nalders.
