ST JUST added the Edwards Cup to their recent Vinter Cup triumph with a 17-run victory over Grampound Road at St Austell on Wednesday.

The Cape Road side were in trouble at 35 for four at one stage, before Gary Thomas (44) and Justin Stephens (22) steadied the ship in the middle order.

Mark George also made 22 in St Just's total of 130-8, with two wickets apiece for Road's Lewis Sanders and Daniel Ferris.

Road's reply was halted by a splendid spell from Stephens, who returned exceptional figures of three for ten in his four overs.

The mid-Cornwall side continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, with George and skipper Gareth May picking up two apiece, but it was paceman Harry Medhurst who sealed the victory in emphatic style, clean-bowling Alex Ridd to secure St Just's second trophy in a week.

In the Andrew Cup, Mullion lost to Perranporth by 21 runs in the semi-final at Reen Manor.

Tyler Murrell made an outstanding unbeaten 97 in Perran's total of 154-7, despite a brilliant spell of bowling from Charlie Hearn who took three for eight in his five overs.

Mullion's reply began brightly with an opening stand of 41 between Jonty Wheatley (21) and Mark Hall (17), but they ran out of wickets with five overs of the innings to go and 133 on the board.
