HELSTON pair Ross Leathley and Tommy Sturgess played their part in Cornwall under-17s' County Cup semi-final victory over Hertfordshire at a breezy Truro yesterday.
Leathley opened the batting and top scored with an 84-ball half century and good lower order contributions from George Bolland (35) and Alex Bone (27) set up the Duchy's total of 213-9 from their 50 overs.
Sturgess then removed two of Hertfordshire's top three before the spin pairing of skipper Jamie Goldsworthy and Ellis Whiteford shared six wickets as the visitors fell 46 runs short with in the 46th over.
Cornwall now meet Oxfordshire at Leicestershire in the final, at Kibworth CC, Leicestershire, on Sunday, August 21.
