Members of Falmouth Hockey Club were both delighted and excited to welcome GB Olympic Hockey Gold Medallist, Giselle Ansley, to their Hockey Fest at Penryn College on Thursday evening.

She said that the whole team were amazed at the huge reaction their great performance had received.

Giselle spoke to everyone about her hockey development and that the key to success is to keep trying.

She started playing at a young age and although selected for Devon junior coaching she was not always selected to attend the West Regional Centre.

However, she kept training and working hard and after time with England at Under 18 and Under 21 levels she became a full time member of the England squad in 2013.

Giselle then demonstrated her skill by demonstrating drag flicks.

All those present were then able to have their photograph taken with Giselle, most wearing her hard-earned gold medal. Club members are now very enthusiastic for the start of the new season.

Ladies training starts on Thursday 1st September at Penryn College, 6.30pm-8pm.

Junior coaching for boys and girl, from age 8-14, starts on Thursday, September 8 at Penryn College, 6-7pm. From September 15 both junior and ladies will be meeting at Penair School, Truro. For further information, phone 01326 315958.
