Sarabande Takes 3rd in Class The Rolex Swan Cup saw 5 days of challenging racing in the waters of Porto Cervo, Sardinia. The Cornish team of 13 sailors and 1 shore crew, made the journey to Sardinia to take part in the 50th anniversary edition of the coveted Swan Cup, racing aboard the Sparkman & Stephens designed 47 Sarabande in the S&S Class. The regatta attracted 125 Swans of all sizes, including classics, the new ultra modern 50 and maxi yachts up to 115 feet.

The coastal courses tested the 35 entries in the S&S Class across the full range of conditions, seeing winds in excess of 30 knots for the final two days of racing. With 15 - 30 mile courses each day set around the islands to the north of Porto Cervo including the notorious 'bomb alley', a narrow, rocky pass where wind accelerates considerably.

Rob Mably, the owner driver of Sarabande said, "this is our first visit to Porto Cervo, with our regular crew and good friends from Falmouth, we have been mixing it with the best! We are thrilled to bits, I am humbled. The Sarabande crew also took 1st in class 2 in the VOLVO Round Ireland Race earlier in the year, which makes this our most successful year! A lot of hard work has been rewarded!”
