Falmouth Town drew their first SWPL Premier match of the season when they were held 1-1 at home to Camelford last night.

Having won seven and lost five of their first 12 matches, they finally produced a stalemate against the north Cornwall side, who had won just two of their 11 matches before last night.

Elsewhere in the top division, Bodmin were 5-1 winners at Godolphin, while St Austell ground out a 1-0 victory at Callington to bring clear daylight between the top five teams and the rest of the division.

In Division 1 West, Porthleven put Saturday's disappointment at Plymouth Marjons behind them with a 2-1 home win over St Dennis at Gala Parc last night.

On Monday evening, Cornwall U18 played a LWC Drinks Combination Team Representative XI at Helston.

The Combination side raced into in an early lead through Jake Williams who finished off a fine team move by rifling a left footed volley into the Cornwall net. Cornwall went 2-0 down when a free Kick from 20 yards out was well saved by Dan Stedman, but Penryn's Liam Jarvis was there to fire home the rebound.

Just before the break Cornwall's Josh Otto was brought down by the Combination League keeper and Jack Rapsey confidently stroked home the resulting penalty.

The second half started and Cornwall manager Glyn Hooper made full use of his 19-man squad.

The equaliser arrived in the 73rd minute through Matt Buchan, who capitalised on a loose ball in the area to far home from 10 yards. Cornwall again upped the tempo and on 82 minutes took the lead through Olly Walker.

Cornwall continued to press for a 4th and the Combination team capitalised with an 89th minute equaliser from William Paul who was in the right place to finish from six yards after a lightning quick counter attack.

It was a great workout for Hooper's side who now face big games against Somerset (South West Counties Championship) and Gloucestershire (FA County Youth Cup) before the end of October.
