Falmouth Golf Club held their annual meeting and outgoing Captain Peter Brierley reported on a very successful year in which more £13,000 was raised by the members for various Charities and organisations.

The club had given a very good account of themselves in county competitions.

He thanked his wife Theresa and other main fund raisers including his vice captain Scott Pedlar, president Bob Wooldridge, seniors' captain Andy Anderson and lady captain Carol Allan, before handing over to incoming captain Scott Pedlar.

Club owner David Hughes also addressed the meeting with new president Chris Beer taking over the chair from the retiring Mr Wooldridge.

Saturday saw the new Captain Scott Pedlar “Driving In”.

His idea of a “Texas Scramble” in teams of four proved popular. Supported by perfect weather the usual amazing scores were returned.

The winning quartet was Charlie Scorse. Matt Morrison. Ryan Job and Liam Hoban who carded a brilliant 52.8 as they took the course apart with 11 birdies and an eagle 2 at the 11th. Runners up with 54.3 were Tony Drew. Paul Evans. Mike Austin and Bill Ward also with eleven birdies on their card.

Third with 54.9 was Paul Marin. Paul Hopkins. Steve Thomas and Simon Leek who carded 6 birdies and an Eagle 3 at the third.

The respective incoming captains followed the event with a “Drive In”.
