PENRYN Athletic secured their first victory for new boss Paul Murray with a 4-2 home win over St Dennis in Division 1 West last night.
The hosts raced into a 3-0 first half lead thanks to two goals from Gregg Hobbs and one from Luke Brabyn.
The visitors pulled one back on the stroke of half time through Ollie Deadman.
St Dennis then set up an exciting finish with a second goal in the second period, before a Dave Broglino free kick sealed the points for Murray's men.
In SWPL Premier on Tuesday evening, Helston produced an excellent performance to earn a 1-1 draw at home to title-chasing St Austell. A Hughie Howlett header deep in stoppage time cancelled out an earlier goal from St Austell's recent signing from St Blazey, Tornado Bello.
In the Combination League on Tuesday, an Andrew Westgarth goal gave Falmouth Town Reserves a 1-0 victory over St Day.
This Saturday Helston travel to St Dennis for the second round of the Walter C Parson League Cup (2pm). Penryn travel to Bude for a Division 1 West fixture.
