Caradon ll 1, Falmouth 8

HOLDERS Falmouth were drawn away to Caradon ll in the first round of the County Knockout Cup and they made the trip to Lux Park, Liskeard, on Saturday.

In the first half goals from Amy Looker, Amy Shaw and Tatum Godwin put the visitors 3-0 up at half time.

In the second half Falmouth kept up the pressure and Vic Pryor had a scoring fest with 5 goals. A good team performance to give Falmouth a comfortable win although Caradon kept working hard and were rewarded with a well taken goal.

l Falmouth Badgers, a club development team with a few senior players who help the young players as they progress from 7 aside to 11 aside hockey, had a very good match against Camborne School of Mines second team.

Although the students won the match, it was an evenly contested game with Falmouth probably having the greater possession.

The Falmouth team included two mothers, Gillian Lister and Camilla Noble, playing alongside their daughters Niamh and Tegan Lister and Betty Noble.

On Saturday the Falmouth teams return to league action. Falmouth 1 with a home game against Torbay at Penryn College at 10.30am while Falmouth 2 travel to Plymouth to play Mannamead at Brickfields at 10.30am.
