The nationwide 5-a-side competition which is also run in partnership with BBC Get Inspired, is the biggest amateur free to enter football competition in the UK, and is currently asking for teams or individuals to sign up and enter.

This event held in Camborne is the only FA People’s Cup event taking place in Cornwall and therefore is essential to get involved if you are a footballer with a disability.

The competition welcomes both male and female players within the following categories; Youth Disability (mixed), Adult Male Disability (league), Adult Male Disability (Championship). Players can enter as a team or as an individual who can join ‘wildcard’ teams which are allocated prior to the tournament.

The FA People’s Cup launched in 2015 and is now in its third full season with 35,000 people taking part last season from over 4,000 teams across the UK.

Last year winning teams from the local cup run events went on to compete in the finals at Sheffield and the eventual winners from each category were invited to attend the Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.

Nikki Perryman, Cornwall dis-Ability Football League said "We are thrilled to host the only event of its kind in Cornwall. It's an amazing opportunity for Cornwall to celebrate disability football and for players to be involved in a nationwide event with potential to compete at a national level.”

The sign up deadline is Sunday, February 19. The competition starts at 10.30am and will take place on the 3G astro turf at Cornwall College Camborne.
