Carn Brea & Helston Swimming Club members have returned home with an amazing hoard of results, medals and trophies after competing in the 2017 Cornwall ASA County Swimming Championships.

Their swimmers clocked up 182 new Personal Best times and achieved 71 top six places in the finals.

This is a brilliant achievement for the 37 swimmers that qualified and took part. In total the club secured 42 medals and can now boast eight new junior County Champions and seven senior County Champions with many breaking county records in the process.

The standard of swimming across the county was of an exceptional standard this year, and CBHSC proved that they can swim at the highest standards.

The club are rightly proud of the commitment and dedication shown by their swimmers and their great focus and attitude in training that has clearly forged the way for the numerous victories achieved over the two weekends of tough competition.  Head coach Michael Kent said: “ The standard in Cornwall just keeps getting higher. Our swimmers were magnificent and have worked hard over the past months to achieve this tremendous result. I congratulate them all and look forward to many of them progressing to the regional competition.”

CBHSC would like to thank Penzance & Bodmin Leisure Centres for hosting the championships over two weekends and the huge team of dedicated organisers & volunteer helpers who make this event possible.

CBHSC is always on the lookout for new members and currently has spaces in both the Learn to Swim & Swim School Squads.  For more information, visit the website and drop them an email.
