Continuing a stream of announcements to confirm player signings for next season, the Cornish Pirates can announce that brothers Jack and Paul Andrew have signed two year contracts, as has Will Cargill.

Cornish-born props the Andrew brothers have amassed over 200 games between them.

Jack, aged 26, has made 87 appearances for the Pirates since joining in 2013, and Paul 135.

Paul, aged 28, first played for the Pirates in 2008, before spending one season with Worcester Warriors in 2013/14.

As for fly-half Will, the former Sandbach, Leeds Beckett University and England Students player joined the Pirates in 2015. Aged 27, he has to date made 38 appearances for the club, and in the process has accumulated a total of 157 points. He is another popular member of the squad, who during his time in Cornwall has sharpened his skill set, kicks well, and has shown that he can control a game at Championship level.

To be in a position to announce these latest names to commit for a further two seasons provides another sign of stability. This is pleasing news for all involved at the Cornish Pirates, and especially for co-coaches Gavin Cattle and Alan Paver. On behalf of the pair Gavin has commented: “Being able to confirm these additional signings is good news as it will help us in our aim to develop our hard working and committed squad of players.

“We feel that real progress has been made, which is something that both Alan and I are keen to evolve.”
