Penryn RFC have bolstered their squad over the last couple of weeks with the arrival of seven new players.

Five of these players are welcome recruits to the forward pack.

The first pair are Matt Healy and Kieran Vinson, who have joined from Truro.

Speaking about the Healy and Vinson's arrival, coach Chris Lea said: "They are part of the Cornwall U20 squad, but were not playing as much first team rugby as they would have liked.

"Darren Jacques at Truro agreed it was in everyone's interest and that has meant the boys are getting experience and game time."

The other two newcomers in the pack are Gareth Crothers and Wayne Mitchell.

Crothers is part of the Enterprise business across the road from the club. He is an experienced player who has been about of the game for a while, and has taken this opportunity to join us to get back into the sport.

Wayne Mitchell is a former player and is back in the area at weekends and has also been added to our squad along with Ryan Churcher, who is another former colt who has stepped back into the playing group and is a real asset up front.

Two new backs have also been added to the roster.

Tom Tierney and Tom Mitchell are former colts and have rejoined the training squad and are aiming to get some game time.

Coach Chris Lea is delighted to welcome these new faces to the club, but added: "There is always room for more!"
