TOMORROW evening Wendron United will be aiming to do what no other SWPL Division 1 West team has done this season - beat Sticker.

The mid-Cornwall side have swept all before them in lifting the title, but Jack Greenwood's men will try to end that dominance in the semi-final of the Charity Cup at Penryn (7.30pm).

"No disrespect to Penryn or Illogan, but we would have preferred to play them. Sticker are obviously a very good side but our momentum is as good now as at any time this season. I'm really pleased for the lads who have stuck with it, they deserve a semi-final because there has been a fair bit of upheaval," said Jack.

Back in October, manager Charlie Davis left the club to join Falmouth Town and up to six players have either moved on or stopped playing in recent months.

"We have a bit of an old-fashioned spirit in the squad, which had stood us in good stead. If someone had told me that we'd reach a cup semi-final after we lost 7-1 to Wadebridge at Christmas, I wouldn't have believed them.

"I can't remember looking forward to a game as much as I am this one," said the 27 year-old, who chose to go into coaching after suffering a long term knee injury.

Greenwood is sweating on the availability of influential striker Michael O'Neill, who may miss the match due to work commitments out of county.

He hopes to find out at lunchtime tomorrow whether or not the big target man will be able to get to Kernick Road in time.

Apart from that, he will have a full squad from which to choose.
