Don’t miss the chance to try sailing when Royal Yachting Association's Push the Out returns to Cornwall from May 13-21.

The nationwide campaign gives everyone the chance to get out on the water for free or low cost.

Sailing clubs and watersports centres across Cornwall will be offering opportunities to try this exciting and varied sport. Each open day and taster session will be different depending on the activities each club or centre offers, but all Push the Boat Out events are geared to showcase what the sports are all about - from the freedom of being on the water to the social buzz of club life - and will highlight just how accessible and affordable sailing can be.

The clubs and centres in Cornwall signed up to Push the Boat Out in May are:

Mylor Yacht Club: Get out on the water in yachts and motor boats, and see the facilities the club has to offer. Bring waterproof/windproof clothing; buoyancy aids will be provided. Children must be accompanied by appropriate adults. Book your sailing session when you arrive on the day.

10am to 5pm on 20 and 21 May

More than 90,000 people have experienced sailing at Push the Boat Out events since 2013, with hundreds becoming members of sailing clubs and signing up for courses.

Saskia Clark, Rio 2016 gold medallist said: “I got into sailing through my local sailing club so it’s fantastic to see so many people given the opportunity to discover what the sport’s all about right on their doorstep. If you want to inspire your non-sailing friends and family to giving sailing and windsurfing a go, make sure you put Push the Boat Out in the diary.”
