Cornish Pirates’ Team Manager, Chris ‘Jan’ Rendall, who is also a keen cyclist, recently completed the Velothon Wales, which is Wales’s biggest cycling event.

17,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities signed up for an event that started and finished in the heart of Cardiff, and covering 88 miles the challenging route taken by Jan took on inclines on the Brecon Beacons and also the Caerphilly mountain.

He completed the course in an impressive 5 hours 35 minutes.

It was the third time Jan had completed the Velothon, where he was accompanied by his brother-in-law Steve Trevor and friend Neil Rogers, from Mylor.

Because of a very poor weather forecast the Cornish Pirates have reluctantly decided to postpone tomorrow's Meet the Players evening.

A new date, however, for sponsors, shareholders, and supporters of the Cornish Pirates to note is Tuesday, August 8 when everyone is welcome to attend the re-scheduled free admission event.

The Meet the Players night will take place from 6.30pm at the Mennaye Field, Penzance, and the Pirates ‘Westholme’ clubhouse.

There will be a Rugby Training Display (commencing 7pm sharp), plus a chance for everyone to meet the new players and check out all Cornish Pirates apparel with Whirlwind Sports. Season tickets can also be collected on the night from the club’s Ticketing Manager, Sue, who will be based by the clubhouse Honours Board from 6.15 – 7.30pm.

See you on Tuesday week!
