Falmouth Golf Club staged the prestigious Tarbuck (Jimmy Tarbuck is an honorary member at Falmouth G.C.) Trophy 18 hole Mixed Better Ball Open stableford on Saturday, writes Keith Rashleigh.
Despite the inclement weather 22 pairs teed it up and much fun was had by all.
The winners were Tony Drew and Barbara Roker who carded a splendid 42 points. The runners up were separated on countback with the pairings of Brian and Donna Craig just edging Chris Old and Letitia R. Old both having good scores of 41 points.
Best visitor and home pair was won by Mel Bryne and Terry Dickinson with 38 points.
Falmouth`s Director of Golf Steve Burrows especially thanked Debi Hall and Ian “Henry” Churcher for all their hard work in organising the day and obtaining so many prizes thanks to the generosity of the members.
A healthy donation was donated to the ladies' golfing section, whose funds had become somewhat depleted following their successes in county competitions this year.
