The South West Region and South Wales PGA golfers and officials rolled into Falmouth Golf Course on Wednesday to support home professional Nick Rogers, who is this year's captain of the South West & Wales region PGA, writes Keith Rashleigh.
The course was in fine condition and saw Ivybridge professional Paul Hendrikson win with a superb four under par gross 68.
Joint runners-up in the professional class were Richard Sadler, of Hayle Golf Range, and Michael Watson, of Wessex Golf Centre, both carding fine gross two under par 70s.
The pro-am team even was won by Adam Frayne (Yelverton GC), alongside amateurs Dan Batton, Dave Williams and Fred Bennetton.
Runners-up were Grant Slater (Carlyon Bay GC) with John Alton, Steve Churchill and Tom Crocker. Third were Dan Wood (Ivyleaf GC) with Nathan Carter. Andrew Moss and Paul Woolner.
The prizes were presented by the events main sponsor David Tangye of DJR Roof Trusses and Timber Frame Specialists, based in mid-Cornwall.
Nick Rogers thanked everyone for their support on a day which raised close to £2,000 for his chosen charities Cornwall Air Ambulance and Motor Neurone Disease.
