The second Alliance of the Cornwall PGA season took place at Mullion last Thursday, in what was amazing sunny weather. With a field of 64 players, which included in-form professionals Chris Gill, Grant Slater and Paul Turpin.

But it was Nick from Falmouth, this year's captain, who came out on top for the first time in a while.

With a two tee start in operation, Nick started his round on the 10th and was two over after 3, but birdies on 13 and 16 got him back to level par at the turn.

A steady start to the front nine was given a boost on the 4th with a 12 footer for eagle, this was followed by another birdie on the 6th to move to 3 under. A dropped shot on 8 moved him back to 2 under, but a par 5 on his last hole gave him a two-shot win over Paul Turpin.

The next Alliance is in a little under two weeks, where Nick returns to his old stomping ground of Tehidy and looking to make it two in a row.
