A new era began at Lizard Argyle Football Club on Sunday, when for the first time in its history youth football has been introduced to the club.
The country's most southerly club, which already has two men's teams, played their first match against Leedstown Leopards in the newly formed under-18 Kernow Youth League.
Manager Johnny Bray said: "I was a coach for years at Culdrose but we realised that lads were reaching the age of 16 and would then stop playing for a few years because there were no more age groups.
"The league decided to form an under-18s league and they've done a super job bringing it all together. It was packed at the ground to watch our first game on Sunday, it was a great day for the club and the village.
The game ended in a1-1 draw and a point apiece for the two side. The home goal was scored by Ben Smitheram.
Johnny's son Harry is part of the team and many of his Mullion School friends are in the 22-strong squad.
Their next home match is against Godolphin Lightning on Sunday, November 12.
