Peter Williams from Penryn, representing Cornwall Blokarters and supported by Speedsail Uk in Penzance, has just returned from taking part in the BLSA race weekend at Greatstone, Kent.

The long journey there and back was made worthwhile as Peter put in an impressive performance in his first meeting since moving up from the Production to the Performance category.

The Performance karts are considerably quicker as they have a ‘Pod’ surrounding the cockpit and a powerful carbon mast plus several other ‘go faster’ features.

The Blokarts are also split into driver weight categories, and 12 races were squeezed in over the weekend.

Peter managed to come second in his weight class, after some very close racing, only losing out to Pete Newlands, who is the Blokart dealer based in the Isle of Wight and has more than 20 years race experience.

In only his second year of racing, Peter is delighted to be able to race in this category and to be holding his own against much more experienced sailors.

His result over the weekend in the Performance class against all weights was a creditable fourth overall out of 13.
