Camborne RFC is raising a pint and saying ‘cheers’ to the announcement of a vital new partnership with Sharp’s Brewery’s Doom Bar.

The new agreement will see Sharp’s Brewery’s iconic Doom Bar logo emblazoned across the chest of Camborne’s famous ‘Cherry & Whites’ playing jersey for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

Sharp’s Brewery will also have prominent perimeter advertising around the pitch at the Camborne Recreation Ground as well as programme advertising and match day hospitality.

Following an epic Lions-inspired rugby match in 2017, hosted by Camborne RFC, Sharp’s Brewery and the rugby club are looking forward to continuing the existing sponsorship and building upon the strong working relationship they have developed.

Colin Stevenson of Camborne RFC’s Sponsorship and Community Team said: ”As a community club we are delighted to have Sharp’s Brewery join us as a sponsor and to see the iconic Doom Bar branding on the front of our shirts and elsewhere around our facilities.

"We have come a long way over the last few years and it means a lot to us to be able to attract a nationally known, Cornish brand of the quality of Doom Bar.

"This is fantastic news for all of us and we’re all looking forward to working further with the Sharp’s team over the next two years. ’’

Dai Griffiths, Sharp’s Brewery’s Commercial Director, said: “We are extremely pleased to be on board again with the famous Camborne ‘Cherry & Whites’.

"This continued partnership with Camborne RFC and Doom Bar is a great fit, based on our shared values of dedication, commitment, precision and teamwork, which are required on the field and in the brew house.

"Doom Bar has always been a strong supporter of local Cornish rugby, where rugby values are instrumental in helping to develop both individuals and communities. We all look forward to a successful season for Camborne RFC and all involved.”

Bill Hussey, President of Camborne RFC, said: “We’re all proud that we are continuing our hard work both behind the scenes and on the pitch.

"We’re also extremely proud that one of Cornwall’s great successes, Sharp’s Brewery, has chosen our ground and our team for a Doom Bar sponsorship and we’re all looking forward to partnering with this great Cornish brand.’’

Camborne RFC has worked hard over the years to rebuild the facilities after a period of decline and has heavily invested in the club’s infrastructure as well as supporting the development requirements for the team.

Doom Bar was the official beer sponsor of the 2017 British & Irish Lions Tour, and as such Cornwall’s Sharp's Brewery recreated the friendly match at Camborne RFC, replicating the test matches between The British & Irish Lions and the All Blacks out in New Zealand, as well as recreating the epic 1924 Cornwall vs the All Blacks game from the history books.
